In year 2000 We were a Church without a Home. A group of people, who loved the Lord. And wanted to be together as a family. We had a goal of winning Souls.. The Great Commission. Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father,and of the Son, and of The Holy Ghost: Mark 16:15,16 Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16: He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. We called a preacher, Chester Furman, he and his wife Micky came and he sat down with us and helped us, as we wrote the bylaws for the church. We chose a scripture, Jerimiah 33:3 Call unto me and I will answer thee and show thee great and mighty things thou knowest not. He had experience as a music director, he worked with Dr John Rawlings at one of his satalite churches. With all this experience of how to direct a choir and a church. He led the way, we had the experiences of great men of God. We started our services with such hardships as the house we had the services in, was way back on a country road, but we prevailed, our church still grew, until we needed to find a building. We had been looking in the North Rock community, but that didn't work out. God provided our finances, as we continued to look, We called our church North Rock Baptist Temple. North because we're located in north Topeka, Rock , on the Rock of Christ. He is the Rock of salvation. Baptist because we are baptist. Temple because our bodies as believers are the Temple of the Holy Spirit. And we are looking forward to the Temple city Jerusalem, in the millennium.
We found a church building in Oakland. north Topeka,Ks. Oh we were so excited as a new church building. We grew, our mission's grew, God supplied our finances to build, remodel. Come check us out at 2322 NE Laurent st, Topeka, Kansas. Call 785- 232-6068. to be continued.
